Honored to partner with Big Oak Ranch to help them create a safety training program for their staff and house parents.

Had the privilege last week to teach an Internet Safety & Child Exploitation Prevention class to their group, who were very receptive and helpful in improving the course material. This course consists of internet safety tips for parents, common grooming practices of child predators, warning signs to look for if your child is being exploited or manipulated, and how to assist law enforcement with evidence preservation.

Great class today with an already established and seasoned security team at Word Alive International Outreach! These guys are amazing, and have a big heart for this. This session was different for me because they are my family.

WAIO has been our home base and launching pad for years, and I credit them with the mindset of “Be the CHURCH” that helped form Valor.

The Etowah County Pregnancy Testing Center is a nonprofit organization serving families throughout our community. They provide free pregnancy tests and help moms and dads with real, practical needs like baby clothes, formula, Pack ’n Plays, and so many of the everyday necessities that come with caring for a baby.

Through their online parenting classes, clients can learn, grow as parents, and earn points toward the items their families need.

But there’s something even greater at the heart of their ministry:

Moms and dads who walk through those doors are encouraged. They are loved. And most importantly, the Gospel of Jesus Christ is shared with each and every one of them.

I’ve had the opportunity to see what this organization does for Etowah County, and it is truly humbling. They are serving families during some of the most important and vulnerable moments of their lives; and they’re doing it while pointing people to Jesus.

But ministry like this takes resources!

This campaign is leading up to the Center’s Fall Fundraiser, and our goal is to help make sure they have what they need to continue this work; and, Lord willing, expand it for the glory of God.

So here’s the challenge:

An outstanding Civilian Fi****ms Fundamentals class is in the books!

Today we had the opportunity to help a group of responsible citizens become safer, more confident, and more capable with their fi****ms.

At Valor Defense Group, our goal isn’t just teaching people how to shoot. It’s about teaching them how to safely own, handle, and defend themselves with confidence.

In this class, students learned:
• Alabama home defense and self-defense laws
• Fi****ms safety and safe weapon handling
• Pistol familiarization and operation
• Marksmanship fundamentals (grip, sights, trigger control)
• Drawing and presenting from concealment
• Live-fire range drills to build confidence and accuracy

Whether you’ve never touched a pistol before or you’ve owned one for years, our training is designed to give you practical skills you can actually use.

Thank you to everyone who trusted Valor with your training today. Watching students gain confidence throughout the morning is why we do this.
