WHAT IF YOUR TIME IN SERVICE COULD BECOME THE FOUNDATION FOR SOMETHING YOU OWN?

My son Connor is currently serving on active duty in the U.S. Army. While he serves, we are building HON Ventures together—a father-and-son company grounded in experience, discipline, vision and legacy.

That journey has led us to a bigger question:

How many other service members, Veterans and military families have the talent and drive to own a business—but need help identifying the right opportunity and building a path forward?

HON Ventures is beginning to explore ways we can help military-connected entrepreneurs turn their experience, skills and vision into business ownership.

We are looking to hear from:

• Active-duty and transitioning service members
• National Guard and Reserve members
• Veterans
• Military spouses and Gold Star family members
• Other military-connected individuals with an interest in business ownership

You do not need to have everything figured out. You may already own a business, have an idea you want to explore, be interested in buying or operating an existing business—or simply know that you want to build something of your own.

This is an interest form, not an application or guarantee of funding, employment, mentorship, investment or partnership. Right now, we are listening, learning and looking for the right people and opportunities.

The next chapter is leaving Florida.

Over nearly 20 years in real estate, I’ve learned that meaningful projects begin long before construction—with relationships, ideas, difficult lessons and a clear sense of purpose.

This week, I’m taking you behind the scenes as the journey continues through Chicago and Dubuque.

I’m documenting the process of building HON Ventures and creating a company that brings together experience, thoughtful real estate and family legacy.

For most of his life, Connor has watched me take worn-out houses and imagine what they could become.

First, he was the little boy holding the hammer. Later, he was beside me tearing out walls and helping turn distressed properties into homes. Today, he is serving our country in the United States Army—and thinking seriously about the future we can build together.

That future is HON Ventures.

This isn’t the announcement of a finished company. It’s Day One of documenting how we build it—using twenty years of successes, failures, hard lessons and real-world experience to create something lasting for our family and meaningful for others.

I’m proud of the soldier Connor has become. I’m equally proud that he still wants to build something with his dad.

Over the next six weeks, I’m going to share more of this journey: where we came from, what I’ve learned, what we believe and what we hope HON Ventures will become.

We are finalizing the design for our expandable homes.

Imagine buying a beautiful home that was not only affordable but expandable.

Envision the first time home buyer. They are just starting out and don't have a lot of money but they want to buy a home.

They love their new house and then a few months later they find out they're having a baby.

Thankfully they purchased an expandable home. They contact support and order another bedroom that shows up with its own bath.

Or imagine a family who's aging parent(s) decide that they want to be closer to each other so they can care for each other as they age. They contact support and order another suite that is simply attached to their current home.

We support the Salt Network, a ministry that plants in college towns all over the country.

We have experienced, first hand, the challenges young people face when they look to start their lives.

Using our designs, someone could literally live in a studio, then purchase a home and then, as they grow their family, add the same sized studio to their house.

What a blessing.

I'm looking so forward to getting these designs finalized and build our first community.
