, Here are a few tips…

1. It’s better to over-communicate than under-communicate. You’re not a few desks down from your coworkers, so nobody will know what’s going on unless you connect.

2. Make your own workspace. Sometimes it’s good to change the scenery.

3. Limit distractions. Especially if you’re staying inside to quarantine yourself, it’s good to find an area of your home that you can leave when you’re finished with work.

4. Remember to take breaks!

5. Mentally prepare in advance that you will need to work harder now than you ever have, and potentially, for less results than you've ever gotten. That's OK, this is your opportunity to set yourself apart from the competition.

Hiring strategy during Covid-19

In this time of uncertainty, the easiest thing to do is nothing.
Companies who have hit the pause button on hiring or delaying interviews are missing a phenomenal opportunity to hire talent that was so heavily sought after just weeks ago.

For those companies that have hit pause, how long can you wait to hire? Some companies have said let's put this search on hold for 2 weeks or a month. The problem is no one knows what will change in that time. What if most companies are working from home longer than a month? The "wait and see" approach seems logical but doesn't solve the problem and just delays a decision.

As fear subsides, people will want to take action. Eventually, companies will start to take action and start interviews again. Some of our clients haven't stopped and have been creative and adaptive to keep things moving. They will benefit from this strategy.

We are recommending to our clients to continue their interviews and to be prepared that they may hire someone without meeting them in person. If there is still hesitancy, hiring contractors to cover the workload is a solution until interviews can take place in-person again.
