Last week, we were proud to join the Forward Sumner Economic Partnership as presenting sponsor of the 2026 Summer Meeting — an afternoon focused on connection, collaboration, and the future of Sumner County.

Congratulations to Randy Smith, named Forward Sumner's 2026 Sumner Countian of the Year! Through the Carolyn Smith Foundation, Randy has quietly invested in Sumner County for two decades — with a special focus on students. His support of the Sumner County Schools Carolyn Smith Innovation Center is helping connect classroom learning to real-world career pathways, giving students the tools and confidence to build their futures right here at home.

A sincere thank you, too, to the policymakers who lent their time and voices to the day: U.S. Rep. Matt Van Epps, State Rep. Johnny Garrett, and State Sen. Ferrell Haile. Your leadership and partnership continue to move our community forward.

It's been a big year for our partnership with Be Pro Be Proud and a particularly special one with Be Pro Be Proud Tennessee, as they launched their first Draft Day and welcomed the entire BPBP family to our state for the national conference!

For a decade, BPBP National has used hands-on simulators and Meta Quest headsets to bring technical careers to life and show students that the skilled trades are something to be proud of. More than 100 workforce development and education leaders, employers, and policy makers from 15+ states joined for the celebration which included a panel discussion about how training, technology, and real career exposure come together to open doors where we live and work. 🔧⚡🏗️

🏗️ America's Workforce Academy — the largest private-sector skilled trades commitment in American history: paid training that leads to an industry-recognized credential and a guaranteed job for graduates.

Tennessee holds a special place in this story. It was the first new state we helped bring online alongside the Tennessee Chamber of Commerce & Industry. Our partnership has now reached ~70,000 students through support in Tennessee and New Mexico and in data center communities in Illinois, North Carolina, and Ohio. Meta just announced our AI Glasses Impact Grant recipients — nearly $2 million for 30+ organizations across 18 states using Meta AI glasses to make a real difference. One is located just down the road in Nashville.

The Arc Davidson County and Greater Nashville & Greater Nashville is using Meta AI glasses as voice-first assistive technology to help adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities increase their independence and stay connected to their communities.

🌱 The pollinators are thriving — and so are the students!

What started as an idea from Mayor Paige Brown (Gallatin City Government) to transform unused land on our Gallatin campus into native habitat has grown into something special.

As part of our grand opening celebration, we partnered with the Tennessee Environmental Council to take the initiative off-site and into the community — installing 6,000 square feet of pollinator gardens across seven Sumner County Schools, Tennessee middle school campuses.

Today, students are getting hands-on experience in sustainability and environmental conservation — learning alongside the native plants and pollinators that now call their school grounds home. 🌿🦋

"We are pleased to see these magnificent pollinator habitats in their full blooming glory just two years after we worked with Sumner County schools to create these gardens two years ago, and we are grateful for Meta's support that made these gardens possible!" says Jeffrey Barrie, CEO of Tennessee Environmental Council.

We're proud to support programs that connect the next generation to the natural world right here in Sumner County. Across our global data center fleet, Meta dedicates the vast majority of unbuilt outdoor spaces to restoring native habitat — with more than 4,000 acres planned, restored, or preserved to support local, biodiverse ecosystems. What launched right here in Gallatin is now part of how we build everywhere!

Last week in Sumner County, Tennessee, we saw what happens when policy makers, employers, school districts, and local chambers come together around a shared belief: That when we align our efforts to support students, we can connect them to real opportunity — and build stronger communities in the process.

Draft Day — led by Be Pro Be Proud Tennessee — gives students the chance to build resumes, develop interview skills, and connect with employers looking to hire for in-demand technical professions.

The results: 250+ high school students engaged. 45 live interviews with employers. 6 hired on the spot.

As part of our national partnership with Be Pro Be Proud, we are honored to bring initiatives like this to data center communities across the nation. With more than 1,000 technical roles needed to build and operate our Gallatin Data Center alone, programs like this are critical to introducing career seekers to the diverse opportunities needed to build the infrastructure of the future.

Since 2023, our partnership with Be Pro Be Proud TN has engaged 50,000+ students statewide — and we’re just getting started.

Big news in clean energy ☀️🔋

Last week, Meta announced two partnerships pushing the boundaries of what's possible for powering AI infrastructure.

We're working with Overview Energy to bring solar power from space to Earth—satellites collecting sunlight around the clock and beaming it to solar farms on the ground. And we're partnering with Noon Energy on ultra-long-duration storage that can hold clean energy for days, not just hours.

These are the kinds of investments that help strengthen the grid and support reliable power for our data center operations here and across the country.

🌎🧊 April is Earth month — and we're proud to share a closer look at the water restoration work happening in Los Lunas.

Water is a shared and vital resource — and at Meta, our goal is to become water positive in 2030. That means restoring more water than we consume in our operations, while partnering with local communities to boost supply, enhance quality, and protect ecosystems.

Yesterday, we announced that we’re breaking ground on our 28th U.S. Meta data center in Tulsa, Oklahoma! When coming to a new community, Meta is committed to making a positive impact by investing in local schools and nonprofits, partnering on local water restoration projects, adding energy to the grid and supporting local jobs to build and operate the data center.
