Slow down.

Stop attempting to race through things you need to get done.

There’s a good chance you won’t do them as well as you’d like to.

Instead, the way to achieve better and more focused work is to simply slow down.

Before you start, take one or two deep breaths.

By putting this into practice, you’ll find that completing a task at a slower pace will have a more positive effect.

Focus on positive thinking.

To find long-term happiness or contentment, spend a few minutes each day looking for positives in your life.

One way to do this is to make a gratitude list.

Keep a notebook or pad and every evening write down five things you were grateful for that day.

There was a time in my life when I made a gratitude list every night before I went to bed.

Even now, when I’m having a bad day, I think of things I’m grateful for.

Never underestimate the importance of recognizing the silver linings in life.

Sometimes we put off 'that thing' on our to do list because we think it’s going to take so much time, or it's going to take so much thought, or so much energy.

The reality is, do whatever 'that thing' is, first.

Do the hardest thing first, or the thing that will take the longest, or the thing you don't want to do, first.

And then when you have completed it, take a deep breath and say “yay.….that's done!”

Some people call it 'eating the frog'.

For the rest of the day, anything you have on your list after that will feel like a 'piece of cake’.

Define three daily outcomes every morning -

This isn't your to-do list.

These are three outcomes that you want to accomplish by the end of the day.

It makes for a great visualization exercise as well.

At the end of each day, do a brain dump.

Rather than suppressing the mental energy, release it.

Write down everything in your brain..personal stuff and work info.

Not everything that comes out may have value.

But once it's on paper, your brain frees itself and allows you to rest.

It’s ok to spend some quiet time alone every day.

Some people meditate, some people go for a walk in nature, some sit in a comfortable chair for 15 minutes and just be.

It's ok to do that.

It's key to our physical, emotional, mental and spiritual well-being to stop for a bit and just be.

Some of the results you will feel include a sense of calm, thinking more clearly, being more productive, and feeling better overall.

Take some time out today.

Notice how you feel.

Enjoy the day!

Plan each day the night before.

If you don't take charge of your day, it will take charge of you.

While there's no need to plan your day to the millisecond, if you take some time the night before to review what needs to get done for the following day, it will be very helpful.

That way, when each day begins, you already have a mapped-out plan of what to do, and in what order you want to do it.

Designate some internet-free times every week.

While a lot of our work does rely on the internet, there are things we need to get done that doesn't require it.

These are often the tasks that we avoid the most.

Turn off your Wi-Fi for a couple of hours every week and dive into those tasks.

08/10/2026

What are the most important things you need or want to accomplish today?

Instead of attempting to do all the things on your To Do list, concentrate on the one to three tasks that will make the most impact.

If you have time after that, do the next one.

There's no need to add stress to your day.

Take a deep breath...and go!

Delete junk from your computer.

Files stored on your computer may not take up room on your desk, but they can fill a hard drive very fast.

Delete drafts, duplicate files, and out-of-date versions of files and keep only the ones you need.

If you no longer have use for a large attachment that was sent with an email, delete it.

These can take up an amazingly large amount of space!

Your computer will thank you!
