My name is Xaicha Lewis. I’m an insurance broker, a mother of three, and a proud soldier in God’s army. 🙏🏽

For 26 years and counting, I’ve honored a principle in my marriage: when my wife cooks, I clean. Though now my son typically washes dishes after each meal, it was never something I believed my wife should have to do, especially when she works over 40 hours a week leading our nonprofit. In this picture, we are both tired, but we show up for each other fully. The fundamental flaw in many marriages is the belief that meeting each other halfway is enough. Marriage is not a contract of convenience where 50/50 suffices; it’s a covenant where both partners must give 100%. In mathematics, 50/50 forms a whole, but in marriage, it reflects two partial efforts. True partnership, however, requires two whole efforts, each going all the way. Success in marriage isn’t found in the middle ground, but in the willingness to go beyond it.
