Today is Inconvenience Yourself Day. It sounds silly at first, but I actually love the meaning behind it!

Acts of kindness can be small things that are a little inconvenient, like sitting a few minutes longer to really listen to someone, checking on your neighbor, or letting someone have the last cookie 😊

In this line of work, I see it all the time. I see the daughter who drives across town after work to check on her mom, the husband who learns how to organize medications even though it overwhelms him, or the neighbor who starts bringing dinner twice a week.

Real love is often a little inconvenient.

I love having a front row seat to the real love shown by families I serve. If you made it this far, I challenge you to inconvenience yourself with one small act of kindness today. I’m willing to bet it’ll make your day better!

Here’s a photo of something that ALWAYS makes my day better- spending time with my grandpa and my horse 💙

Today is National Caregivers Day.

If you are caring for a parent, a spouse, a neighbor, or even checking in on someone quietly behind the scenes- thank you ❤️

Caregiving can look like picking up prescriptions, managing appointments, cooking two different meals,
answering the same question ten times, or holding it together when you are tired.

If you know a caregiver, tag them and tell them thank you. If you are one, drop a heart in the comments so we can remind you that you matter too.

Don’t forget to take care of yourselves too. Your job is often a thankless one, but your love for the person you care for shines through.

I’ve been considering hosting a caregivers support group local to Georgetown. If this is something you would be interested in, please comment below or send me a message. Again, thank you for all that you do for those you love!

There is something incredibly beautiful about love that has lasted 40, 50, even 60 years.

They have seen each other young and strong.
They have seen each other tired and worried.
They have raised babies, buried parents, paid bills, built homes, and weathered storms.

They chose each other through it all.

I have the honor of witnessing love in its later years. In rooms filled with paperwork, appointments, and big decisions, what stands out most is not the stress. It is the steadiness. The commitment that has been built over decades.

A hand held in a waiting room.
A familiar joke.
A look that says everything without words.

For those whose person is no longer sitting beside them, that love still lives on. In stories. In habits. In the life they built together.

Love does not fade with age. It deepens, shapes us, and stays with us forever.

Today I am celebrating the kind of love that stands the test of time and the lives that were forever changed by it. Every chapter is still worthy of joy, connection, and dignity.

To every senior couple following along, thank you for choosing one another again and again and for setting an example of love that continues to inspire the generations coming after you.

❤️ Happy Valentine’s Day! ❤️

Today is National Make a Friend Day 💙

This is one of my favorite parts of what I do.

One of the biggest fears I hear is
“What if my loved one feels alone?”

What I have seen over and over again is the opposite. I have watched residents go from sitting quietly at home to having lunch buddies, walking partners, card game rivals, and standing coffee dates. I’ve watched residents support, check on, and celebrate each other!

Friendship does not have an age limit.

A move is not about losing independence. It can be about gaining community and a better quality of life!

Happy Make a Friend Day!

Here are some pictures of my pup Benny making some new friends as we tour communities in the area. We had a blast checking out Preston Greens Senior Living last week!

Here are a few answers to common questions that often come up when families begin exploring senior living options.

💙 Do you work for specific communities?
Guidance is provided for families, not communities. This allows recommendations to remain unbiased and focused on identifying options that best align with individual needs and preferences.

💙 Is support only helpful when a move is happening right away?
Not at all. Many families seek guidance simply to understand available options, plan ahead, or gain clarity about next steps. Support can be valuable well before any transition is considered.

Learning about senior living early often brings confidence and peace of mind. Questions are always welcome, and education can be helpful at every stage 😊
