Natalie is a retired law enforcement professional with 22 years of experience in solid law enforcement and community policing. Over the span of her career, she has assisted and worked with countless victims, families and perpetrators on a local, state and federal level. She has devoted her career to protecting children by educating them and their caregivers on ways to stay safe.
As a police officer, she initiated many educational programs in the Georgetown community that cultivated positive relationships between law enforcement, children and citizens. She continues to be an advocate for safe schools and student success, and believes that positive relationships formed on the pre-school level will have the greatest impact on our children. Some of the programs she instituted were:
Internet Safety – Protecting Your Kids Online for parents
Neighborhood Watch
Citizen Police Academy
Youth/Mentor Volunteer Training
General Safety/Rapport Building – Preschool to 5th Grade
Kids, Cops & Community
McGruff House Program
Natalie has gained distinction as a strong listener, an excellent communicator, an energetic, knowledgeable and motivational speaker and a compelling relationship builder. She is an advocate for all, providing support and resources for children and adults. Throughout her career, she has focused her energy on educating parents and caretakers on the dangerous trends their kids are exposed to and how to protect them from becoming victims. Additionally, she has put even more energy and time into connecting with kids in order to educate them on the importance of good choices and the permanent impact social media can have on their lives.
As a law enforcement professional whose primary objective was to protect the children of our community, Natalie continues to make every effort to provide real, trending information to you so that you may offer the same protection at home. There is no one size fits all when it comes to parenting in the digital age. However, Natalie can provide you with valuable information to make positive choices and changes for your family. Our families are being pervaded with negative media and the effects are obvious.
Natalie has gained a strong reputation with diverse contacts in the federal, state and local law enforcement field and community. She has had specialized training in all aspects of criminal investigations, including domestic violence, sexual and physical assault and cyber crimes. Additionally, Natalie was assigned a Special Deputation Appointment, United States Marshals Service, to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, United States Department of Justice, Lexington Resident Agency, within the Louisville Division as a Task Force Officer for Internet Crimes Against Children. She investigated criminal offenses involving the sexual exploitation of children via computer telecommunications.
Natalie has spent the last nine years mentoring young people who exhibit out of control behavior, drug use, anger and defiance, disrespect, on and offline risky behavior as well as other types of criminal behavior. Some of the youth she has mentored simply needed extra support. Natalie is not a counselor. She is a viable alternative when you have tried everything else or are unsure where to turn. She is able to connect with kids in a manner that produces a realistic and positive outcome. Additionally, Natalie works in tandem with parents and supports them with information, guidance and advice on how to reconnect with their children and get their lives back on track. Natalie is appreciative of these mentoring relationships. She has had the good fortune of seeing the majority of these young people grow, mature and become successful, independent adults, some with their own families.
Natalie is a caring professional with an in-depth background of law enforcement training and 22 years of people experiences. She will listen deeply and non-judgmentally, ask you questions you may not have been thinking about, give you new, relevant information for your particular parenting challenge, and offer you specific suggestions to help you implement new attitudes, strategies and resources in your life for yourself and for your children.
Who is in control? You or your child? Many parents ask for help because their child is out of control. The reality is that their child acts-out by “losing control” in order to gain more control. If this is your life, you may be feeling hopeless and defeated. If your child is doing this now or has been for some time, it may be that you have already started accepting behavior from him that is wrong or inappropriate because you have begun to decrease your expectations for appropriate behavior. Natalie wants to offer hope.
Don't be misled into thinking that your out-of-control teen or kid with a behavioral problem can’t make appropriate choices. Natalie has worked with these kids for many years and they are able to make appropriate choices. That’s why they act out with some teachers, but not with others. Or they act out in the home and not in school.
Children don't grow out of this type of destructive behavior. If your child is acting out to get his way, then this has become his problem-solving mechanism, and it is working. With Natalie's law enforcement background, training and immeasurable responses to families in crisis, she may be able to provide you with tools to manage difficult, risky, criminal behaviors: disrespect, defiance, backtalk, lying, laziness, motivation, and more.
If you have tried counseling and other resources, but nothing has improved, Natalie would like to help you tap into your parenting strengths, address challenges and create change. She is not a counselor. She is, however, a viable preference when you have tried everything else and may be feeling hopeless. There is no judgement, just support.
Natalie works with children and parents who are stuck and want support. She will help you get to your desired state.
Throughout her career, Natalie has received commendations and recognition for her dedication and service to her community.
