I spy with my little eye...something... yellow. πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’› 🌼 🌼 🌼

It’s always a pleasant surprise to see dandelions blooming even in Wyoming’s chilly winters. The dandelion is are such resilient plants and they do more than just add a splash of color. They actually help the soil in several ways...
Their deep roots bring up essential nutrients like calcium, potassium, and magnesium from deeper soil layers, enriching the ground for other plants.

This natural fertilization benefits neighboring veggies, herbs, and flowers, creating a healthier garden ecosystem.
So, next time you spot a dandelion peeking through the snow, remember it’s doing its part to nurture the soil and support the garden.

With love Greenery Guru.
Happy planting!

If you have noticed there has been a serious influx of these guys. To the left we have the western conifer seed bug the right is a boisea trivittata commonly known as the boxelder bug! Fear not, neither one of these cause harm. However the seed bug and boxelder bug is known to put out some stink! Not confuse with a stink bug. πŸ› πŸͺ² 🐞 This year the dry Wyoming weather has made it a perfect environment for these guys to thrive.! They are now looking for their forever homes until next spring. πŸ˜…πŸ€£ not big into pollination. Playing a significant roll in the environment as natural decomposers and seed control which helps with soil heath! Coming in full circle. ❀️ also

Found this at our local big box store ⚠️ this friends. This is why you check your plants before you bring them home. Or have after care plan for your plants. These are mealys.. these guys normally feed on the juices of your plants can definitely run rampant if not handled almost immediately. Even more terrifying these act as a vector which means they can transfer diseases between plants. Stay safe out there.

Did you know celosia AKA cockscomb is edible??? Some plant story time for all my plant friends out there 😊 ☺️ πŸ€—
Well to start celosia is such a cool plant..It's got those beautiful and vibrant plumes, and it's not just pretty, it's also nutritious! High in vitamins A and C. Both the leaves and the flowers are edible! βœ”οΈ
HOW TO USE: the leaves are often used like spinach you can sautΓ© them and toss them into salads, or even and them into soups and stews. Its bright and vibrant plumes add a serious pop of color sometimes used as a garnish, made into jams or even brewed into teas 🍡 β˜•οΈ πŸ«–

Cabbage moth and cabbage moth damage. πŸͺ± πŸ›
Hence the name. They love their brassicas. What is a brassica? Quick overview- kale, broccoli, cabbage (of course)and cauliflower (your catching on now). πŸ₯¦ πŸ₯¦
They have a huge and I mean HUGE appetite.
What preventive measures could you take?
Barriers work great. Kind of like a reverse butterfly net. No sprays involved. ❀️ 🐝 🐦
Companion planting is another great way to keep these guys at bay. (my preferred method) ** since edited ** this is what happens when you dont use AI to write your post** passing the algorithm *** thanks for the check back πŸ˜‰ πŸ₯°πŸ₯° give me a follow for more real unedited gardening content ** 😝😝 πŸ₯°

Shall we discuss a problem we all might be having currently? Have a little chat on garden pest breakdown? πŸ”πŸ” Introducing to you the flea beetle. Allow me to let you in on a little fact these guys lay dormant in the soil 😬 that being said they are kind of a hard enemy to conquer. Not to worry there are many ways you can treat this common pest.

My favorite methods:

Beneficial nematodes #1🦠🦠 : basically a team of microorganisms you put in the soil to help balance or eat the " bad guys" or diseases in your garden. Note - nematodes are used for many beneficial purposes in the garden. Do yourself a favor and look them up! πŸ€“ πŸ“– Or wait and I will do make a chat about it another day . πŸ₯°πŸ₯°πŸ˜˜πŸ˜˜
OR
Ladybugs 🐞
Lacewings πŸͺ²
