Grand Island has deep roots as a welcoming and inclusive community founded by immigrants. This history is celebrated through the creation and revival of the Ethnic Festival—now known as the Global Roots Festival.

Throwback to 1991!

The first Ethnic Festival brought our community together to celebrate culture, connection, and pride and now, that legacy is coming back.

🎉 Get ready for the Global Roots Festival 2026! 🎉
A new generation. The same powerful excitement. More cultures and more to celebrate.
