Accurate payroll matters. Let's get it fixed. 🙌

I don't spend much time working in QuickBooks Desktop these days, but today I was back in it helping a client and discovered something that could save Minnesota employers from costly payroll errors.

After encountering the same issue with multiple clients, I found what appears to be a workaround for a problem where QuickBooks Desktop is calculating Minnesota Paid Leave at 0.88% instead of 0.66% for qualifying small employers.

While I can't say with certainty that every QuickBooks Desktop user is experiencing the same issue, what I've seen suggests that the system may be applying the large employer rate (0.88%) regardless of employer size. If your business has fewer than 30 employees, it's worth taking a closer look to ensure your payroll calculations are accurate.

The good news? I found a workaround that corrected the issue for my clients.
