The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) announced the availability of low interest federal disaster loans for Michigan businesses, private nonprofits, and residents affected by tornadoes occurring March 6. The SBA issued a disaster declaration in response to a request received from Gov. Gretchen Whitmer on April 27.

The declaration covers the Michigan counties of Berrien, Branch, Calhoun, Cass, Hillsdale, Kalamazoo, St. Joseph, and Van Buren as well as Indiana counties of Elkhart, LaGrange, St. Joseph, and Steuben, which are eligible for both physical damage loans and Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDLs) from the SBA.
