Maria Cervantes is a Team Lead with Movement Mortgage and a passionate advocate for helping individuals and families achieve the dream of homeownership.

With expertise in FHA and conventional financing, Maria is known for guiding borrowers through the mortgage process with clarity, patience, and honesty. She specializes in finding solutions for complex lending situations while building relationships rooted in trust.

As a Board Member of La Alianza of the Triad NC, Maria brings that same commitment to helping others build stability, opportunity, and a brighter future — both through homeownership and through a stronger professional community.

Fun fact: Maria is the ultimate multitasker. She can preapprove your mortgage, host your Airbnb stay, handle a client issue, plan a themed book-club dinner, switch to soccer-mom mode, and still make it to Pilates. The real talent? Making it all fit in one calendar.

Felix Delgado is a Financial Advisor with Edward Jones Investments, where he focuses on financial planning, wealth management, and protection.

Felix joined La Alianza because he sees an opportunity to help address the wealth-building gap within the Latino community. He believes in helping people take advantage of opportunities, build financial independence, and create lasting family legacies.

What he loves most about his work is being alongside clients through the important moments in their lives helping protect and grow the wealth they’ve worked hard to build.

As a Board Member and Treasurer of LATNC, Felix brings that same focus on building opportunity and long-term success to the organization.

Fun fact: Felix enjoys trying new foods and cooking ribs.

His advice to the community: Don’t set limitations for yourself, don’t compare yourself to other people, and always pay it forward.

Meet Alfredo Romero — Chair of the Department of Economics at NC A&T State University

Alfredo is passionate about making economics easier to understand. Alongside his work in higher education, he provides economic commentary in English and Spanish for national outlets including Telemundo and Univision.

His advice to the community: Education isn’t the only way to succeed in life, but it’s one of the safest. Invest in learning for yourself, for your kids, even when it’s not the flashy path.

And one fun fact? He’s a total Beatlemaniac and a vintage-computer nerd! 🎶💻

Meet Catherine Ukaj — One of the Founders of LATNC ✨

Catherine is passionate about building meaningful relationships, connecting business owners with the right people, and creating opportunities that strengthen our community.

As part of Asset Insure, she helps businesses protect what they’ve built while positioning them for long-term growth.

Her advice to the community: “Be intentional about the rooms you enter and the relationships you build. You never know which conversation will change someone’s trajectory—including your own.”

And one fun fact? Catherine went to culinary school and loves bringing people together through food! 👩‍🍳
