A great way to start the weekend!

This morning I volunteered with the Junior League of Greenville SC at the Julie Valentine Center annual Run to Overcome 5K/10K. I loved seeing the Greenville community coming together for a cause that brings hope, healing, and support to others.

Grateful to play a small part in such a meaningful event.

I’m excited to share that I’ve been featured in SC Voyager Magazine, where I had the opportunity to reflect on my journey, my passion for service, and the work being done through Davis Social Work Consultants to strengthen organizations and support the people behind the work.

Thank you to everyone who has supported and encouraged me along the way, and a huge thank you to whoever suggested me to be featured. I truly appreciate the recognition and support.

In the spirit of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, a true Day of Service, I’ve been thinking a lot about this past weekend and how meaningful it was.

I had the opportunity to volunteer with the Prisma Health-Upstate Foundation and the Bradshaw Institute for Community Child Health & Advocacy as they celebrated 30 years of Safe Kids and the impact it has had on children and families in our community.

The celebration was special, but the part that really stayed with me came afterward, when the work began. Having my daughter there volunteering alongside me made the day even more meaningful. Watching her jump in, help out, and see service in action reminded me that giving back is something we teach by doing. Seeing families move through the diaper bank and leave with the support they needed was a powerful reminder that community work is really about showing up for one another.

So grateful for the chance to serve, to share that experience with my daughter, and to be part of a community that continues to put children and families first, year after year.
