Another great day with our 2026 South Carolina Healthy Business Fellowship cohort!

We started the evening before with dinner at the Lazy Goat, and a special thank you to Laura Mazzola and Table 301 Hospitality for such a wonderful evening of fellowship and connection before our session.

The next day, we gathered at the Shi Institute for Sustainable Communities at Furman University for our third in-person Fellowship session, focused on leadership, mindset, resilience, connection, and wellbeing.

A special thank you to Jen Wright, MPH, CMVC, for joining us as our guest facilitator and leading our session, Leading from Within: Mastering Mindset, Resilience, and Connection.

One of the things we value most about the Fellowship is creating space for leaders to step away from their day-to-day work, learn from one another, build relationships, reflect, and return to their organizations with new perspectives and ideas. We had plenty of time for all of that, including a walk outside to continue the conversation together.

Thank you to the Shi Institute for Sustainable Communities for hosting us in such a beautiful setting, and to our Fellows for continuing to bring your experiences, perspectives, and energy to this cohort.

Hard to believe we’re already approaching the final stretch of our Fellowship year. We’re looking forward to celebrating this group at graduation in November!

Last week, the South Carolina Healthy Business Coalition gathered employers, benefits leaders, healthcare partners, pharmacy experts, and workforce wellbeing professionals for The GLP-1 Landscape: What Employers Need to Know Now.

The discussion explored the evolving role of GLP-1 medications in employer-sponsored health plans and the practical considerations organizations are facing. Panelists addressed questions related to coverage and affordability, access and utilization, clinical appropriateness, pharmacy benefit strategy, long-term treatment support, and the broader implications for employee health and workforce wellbeing.

A sincere thank you to our moderator, Jill Boyd of Hilton Head Health, for guiding such a thoughtful discussion.

We are also grateful to our panelists for bringing such strong and complementary perspectives:

Dr. Aundrea Loftley, MUSC Healthh
Dr. Cynthia Phillips, South Carolina College of Pharmacy USC Campus
Cole Wilson, PharmD, MBA, FIRST Rx
Jennifer Johnson, Liviniti

Thank you as well to our sponsors, Novo Nordisk and FIRST Rx, for supporting this important employer education roundtable.

And thank you to everyone who joined us for your engagement, thoughtful questions, and willingness to be part of a meaningful conversation about how employers can navigate this evolving landscape.

Conversations like this help employers ask better questions, make more informed decisions, and connect benefits strategy with broader workforce health and organizational wellbeing.

We’re excited to continue our 2026 South Carolina Healthy Business Fellowship spotlight series, highlighting leaders working to create healthier workplaces across South Carolina.

Next up is Alicia Culler, Director of Business Health at MUSC Health.

Alicia is passionate about connecting employers, employees, and healthcare in ways that make workforce wellbeing more accessible, practical, and meaningful. Here’s a look at what’s driving her Fellowship journey:

What inspired you to join the South Carolina Healthy Business Fellowship, and what impact do you hope to make in your organization?

A: I joined the Fellowship because I’m passionate about helping create healthier, more resilient workplaces and building meaningful connections between employers, employees, and healthcare. I first met Dr. Johnson when I started at MUSC more than 10 years ago, and she has been an important mentor ever since. She has taught me so much about worksite health promotion, workforce wellbeing, and the impact we can make when we bring health and wellness into the workplace in meaningful ways.

In my role with Business Health, I have the opportunity to help organizations think beyond traditional healthcare and find practical ways to support the health and wellbeing of their workforce. Through the Fellowship, I hope to learn from others, gain new perspectives and best practices, and bring those insights back to MUSC as we continue developing innovative solutions for the employers and communities we serve.

What’s one workplace wellness initiative or strategy you’re passionate about, and why?

A: I’m especially passionate about making healthcare and wellness more accessible and convenient for employees. People are busy, and the more barriers we can remove, the more likely they are to take advantage of opportunities to improve their health.

I love bringing these opportunities directly to the workplace, whether that’s onsite screenings, vaccination events, health education, or helping connect someone to the right care. To me, workplace wellness is most effective when it meets people where they are and makes taking care of themselves a little easier.

What’s a fun fact about you or a personal wellness habit that keeps you energized?

A: I love watching my kids play soccer, traveling with family and friends, and experiencing new places. I’m happiest outdoors or on the water, and spending time with the people I love is my favorite way to recharge and reset. I’m always up for a new adventure!

We’re excited to have Alicia as part of this year’s cohort and look forward to the impact she’ll continue to make at MUSC Health and with employers across South Carolina.

We’re excited to continue our 2026 South Carolina Healthy Business Fellowship spotlight series—highlighting leaders working to create healthier workplaces across South Carolina.

Next up is Laura Mazzola from Table 301.

Laura believes that workplace wellbeing starts with meeting people where they are and creating a culture where everyone feels encouraged to grow. Here’s a look at what’s driving her Fellowship journey:

What inspired you to join the South Carolina Healthy Business Fellowship, and what impact do you hope to make in your organization?

A: I love to look for ways to be inspired. I love to meet new people. I love to live a healthy life. All those combined made being part of the South Carolina Healthy Business Fellowship a goal. Learning, growing, and collaborating with others who are passionate about health and business will help me bring new ideas back to our Table 301 team. With more than 500 employees, I hope to continue elevating how we care for our family at Table 301 Hospitality.

What’s one workplace wellness initiative or strategy you’re passionate about, and why?

A: I’m passionate about helping people believe they can achieve anything they set their minds to. One initiative I especially love is our annual Step Challenge. This year we introduced a new app, and our team has continued the friendly competition well beyond the challenge itself. Consistency is key to building lifelong healthy habits.

What’s a fun fact about you or a personal wellness habit that keeps you energized?

A: I was a cheerleader at the University of South Carolina all four years I attended—and anyone who knows me knows I’m still a cheerleader at heart! My personal wellness routine is filled with things that bring me joy: prayer, encouraging others, early morning workouts, and twice-daily walks with my husband and our pup along the river trail near our home.

We’re excited to have Laura as part of this year’s cohort and look forward to the impact she’ll make at Table 301 Hospitality and beyond!
