One of the things we enjoy about pest control is getting to see parts of homes that most people never will.
Today had us crawling through a tight crawl space where we found some pretty significant powder post beetle damage in a beam. From the outside, it didn't look all that bad, but once we started probing the wood, there wasn't much left in some sections.
It's always fascinating how much can be happening behind walls, under floors, or above ceilings without anyone realizing it. Powder post beetles can spend years quietly turning solid wood into something that resembles compressed sawdust.
Not every day in pest control is exciting, but crawling around in dark spaces and uncovering hidden issues definitely keeps things interesting.
