Real talk for a second: running a small business is one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever done, but it’s also a massive learning curve. 💫

If I could go back and give myself a few pieces of advice when I first started, here’s what I’d say:

1. Your products aren’t for everyone
Trying to appeal to every single person will only burn you out. When you focus on serving the people who truly love and value what you create, everything clicks into place. Embrace your niche—the right audience will find you, and they’ll become your biggest champions.

2. Understand things are going to happen
Unforeseen delays, material hiccups, and random surprises are simply part of the package deal. Learning to pivot with grace rather than stressing over every unexpected twist keeps your sanity intact. Flexibility isn’t just a perk of running your own show; it’s an essential survival skill.

3. It’s not all going to happen at once
Building a business is a slow-burn process, and learning true patience is half the battle. You don’t need the dream setup, every piece of fancy equipment, or endless inventory right out of the gate. Write down your vision, start with what you have, and upgrade your tools and ideas step-by-step as you grow.

4. Family comes first (the most important one of all) ❤️
At the end of the day, my family is the absolute why behind every single thing I build. No milestone, sales goal, or restock deadline is ever worth missing out on the moments with the people who mean the most to me. Being my own boss means setting boundaries so I can show up fully for my kids and my home. The work will always be waiting for me tomorrow, but these days go by fast.

Finished Slow Roasted by E. M. Hedrick! ☕️✨

This was actually my very first romance book, as well as my first spicy romance! Overall, it was such an addictive story with a great storyline, and I loved getting the different character perspectives (POVs).

I rated it 4.7/5 stars! The only reason it isn’t a full 5 stars is because there were two specific parts that were just a bit too much for me personally, especially as someone brand new to the genre. But if you enjoy fake dating and spice, you’ll definitely want to add this one to your TBR! 📖
