When I work with toddler parents , the two things we focus on our CONSISTENCY and COMMUNICATION.

Most often sleep issues at this age come from behavioral resistance because they have learned that they have voice .

We can help things go more smoothly by including them in the routine and providing opportunities for them to use their voice.

This gives them that feeling of having control , reduces anxiety , and allows for a predictable and less chaotic routine.

I don’t know what tired parent needs to hear this but a predictable bedtime routine can change everything 🤍

The goal isn’t perfection, it’s consistency.

When you follow the same steps, in the same order, every night… your child’s brain starts to recognize the pattern and prepares for sleep before they even get into bed.

Bath → pajamas → books → sound machine → bed

Over time, it becomes a cue for their mind and body:
this is what we do before sleep

That’s why you’ll start to see moments like this where they’re asking for bedtime instead of fighting it 🥹

Simple, predictable, and so powerful.

If you’re a mom or you’re expecting I can almost guarantee you have heard “just wait…”

I remember feeling so much anxiety every time someone would warn me.

But this is your sign to ignore the warnings and let them be invitations instead.

Each season is an invitation.

To grow alongside them.
To slow down.
To see things differently.

Because every season they told me to brace for
became one that shaped me in the most beautiful way.
