Lyndsey Glasener (founder of Sabine Hill) was spending the summer there with her husband and son, Will. Will was just learning to walk, so every night the Glasener family strolled around the island enjoying the beautiful yachts and the amazing new construction homes. It was during these evening strolls that Lyndsey decided she wanted to design her own tile line. As a former employee for a national

tile manufacturer, Lyndsey has experience in sales and marketing in the tile industry, so it was a perfect fit! Lyndsey went through all the mediums - glass tile, ceramic tile, waterjet... - but they all seemed so saturated. Lyndsey became obsessed with patterns and starting seeing tile designs EVERYWHERE...even in the shadows. Designs were made via hand sketches and on computer programs. Then came the color palette, which she knew from sales, muted colors tend to sell more, so she kept the color palette very natural (for the most part), some bright colors were added for eye candy. The next step was to make these envisioned tiles come to life. Originally, Lyndsey was going to start her own manufacturing facility in Wisconsin (where she grew up and now lives). Research was done, presses were about to be purchased, but at the last minute she met with a manufacturing facility in the Dominican Republic that was a perfect fit. A state-of-the-art facility that couldn't be beat! The perfect marriage. And so the cornerstones for Sabine Hill cement tile were laid and the first collection was complete. While prototypes were being made, Lyndsey designed the website and catalog. She envisioned a user-friendly website that stored all information on the tiles, so it could be used by sales associates and by the end user. Lyndsey envisioned a rendering tool that could create endless color combinations, and even the opportunity to change designs by color placement. Over 2 million different color combinations can be made! Today, Sabine Hill can be found in 89 showrooms throughout the United States and Canada. Sabine Hill has supplied cement tile to Hotels, Restaurants and Residences around the World. Helping clients with custom patterns and custom color combinations, and turning their vision into reality...that's what we're all about!
