It's my understanding NE had a $2billion contract with China for soy beans and NE would be getting $350million + income from migrant workers doing the harvesting.
China cancelled the contracts because of tariffs issue.
Migrant workers got ICE'd.
And NE white folks don't want to take to the fields.
I have no particular opinion on the matter. Just reading what the newspapers and trade journals are saying. They're saying farmers need to plan 1-3 yrs ahead but there's no long term plan now.

NE does have a $900 million reserve to make up shortfalls, however that will only last so far.
