What. A. Night!
So much glass came through that we actually had to start hauling loads back to the shop to finish crushing this weekend. That’s a first!!
In fact, there was nearly as much glass left waiting to be crushed as there was glass we crushed during the event itself (gah)
Think about that for a second.
We had so many first-time droppers, new volunteers, and SO MANY new faces. One of our favorite things about these events is watching someone pull up to drop off a box of glass, get curious, start asking questions, try the crusher, meet a few people... and before they know it, they’ve been hanging out, eating dinner, drinking, and helping for three hours. Which is what happened to a few families last night 😆 (sorry not sorry)
It’s the best kind of fun.
What happened last night wasn’t just recycling. It was a community gathering. People eating together. Drinking together. Learning together. Supporting a local business and a good cause at the same time. Those are the things we believe in and the things we want more of!!!
A huge thank you to Southern Prohibition for continuing to host us month after month. We truly couldn’t ask for a better partner!!
And a very special thank you to Waste Pro USA, one of our principal sustainability partners, for coming out and showing their support. Thank you to Chris Lockwood and Bernadette Silverstein for bringing giveaways, encouraging participation, and generously picking up the tab to help keep our volunteers hydrated, motivated, and fueled for a very busy night. 💚
What a night, phew…
Now start saving those bottles again...
