Planning to buy a home? Be careful what you do with your credit 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 applying for a mortgage. 🏡

A few seemingly normal decisions could potentially hurt your credit score:

• Financing a new car
• Running up credit card balances
• Taking on additional debt
• Closing an old credit card account

That last one surprises a lot of buyers. An older account may actually be helping your credit history—so closing it could work against you.

Larry Montani still remembers the scream from the bathroom.

He had just returned home from Florida, where he had been visiting his father, who was dealing with health issues.
