Without getting into descriptive detail..
Last Thursday Nik suffered a cardiac event and he wanted to take a moment to speak from the heart to everyone who has supported us over the years.
My entire life, all I’ve ever wanted to do was help and serve others. That started back in high school through community service, then continued with enlisting in the military and serving 18 years before being medically retired. Even after that chapter ended, I still felt like I had more to give. That led me into racing, and eventually into promoting racing.
Along the way, I’ve met some truly incredible people, and unfortunately a few not-so-great ones too. I always accepted that as part of doing business and being involved in this sport. Racing has brought some of the highest highs and some painful lows. It brought friendships I’ll cherish forever, and heartbreak from losing people who meant a great deal to me.
I started this journey in Florida back in 2018. Since then, I’ve watched two home tracks close their doors. We made the move to Alabama hoping for a fresh start and better opportunities, only to watch our new home track change hands multiple times. Through it all, we kept pushing forward.
Stress is part of life, and anyone involved in racing knows the long nights, hard work, sacrifices, and pressure that come with it. Unfortunately, the stress from years of military service, combat, and endless nights at the track has finally caught up with me — mentally and physically.
I’ve always lived by the mottos:
“Under promise and over deliver.”
And, “Don’t talk about what you’re going to do — just do it.”
With that being said, after much thought, we have made the difficult decision to no longer own and operate the Renegade Sprints.
Right now, my health has to become the priority in my life, and I truly believe this is the Lord’s way of telling me it’s time to change paths and focus on healing and my family.
For anyone interested in helping continue the remaining dates this season, I’m more than willing to work with you and coordinate with the tracks to help make that happen. If you’re serious about that conversation, please reach out privately.
We also already have a plan in place regarding membership fees, along with a small payout from the races we’ve completed this year. More details on that will be shared soon.
I hope everyone can understand why this decision had to be made. Trust me when I say this was not easy. Racing has been a huge part of our lives, and we are grateful for every driver, fan, sponsor, track, and supporter who stood beside us through it all.
Thank you all for the memories, the friendships, and the support you’ve shown us over the years. It has truly meant more than words can express.
