What a great spotlight with Sherry Parker of Preferred Title & Loan Settlement Services! 🙌 Sherry really emphasized the importance of what she does and the many potential pitfalls she helps her clients avoid throughout the title and loan settlement process. Her passion for making sure people are informed, protected, and taken care of truly came through.

But this spotlight was about so much more than business. Sherry gave us a glimpse into her life as a hardworking single mom, shared some of her family with us, and talked about the importance of giving back. Between supporting nonprofits, volunteering, and being there for others in our community, Sherry truly is a pillar of support. ❤️

The project centers around telling the story of a local cancer foundation and highlighting the positive impact they’re making throughout the Richmond community. While the full project hasn’t launched just yet, Thad gave us a glimpse into the storytelling process and the importance of using film to connect people with organizations and causes that are making a real difference.

For Thad, projects like this go beyond simply creating something that looks great—they’re about capturing real stories, creating an emotional connection, and helping organizations communicate the heart of what they do. We’re looking forward to seeing the finished film when it’s ready to be shared!

Big thanks to everyone from Next Level Referrals (212 Network) who showed up this week to help Amber Lancaster and Start1Spark give back to local teachers.

The crew spent the day clearing out a school music classroom — hauling out old equipment, organizing storage, and cleaning up the space to make room for new instruments. The room's getting a full overhaul soon, and this was step one in making that happen.

Grateful for teachers who pour into kids every day, and glad our network could pitch in and make their jobs a little easier. This is what community looks like.

Member Spotlight Recap: Luis Montoya of Prestige Concrete and Edging 🏗️

This week we heard from Luis Montoya of Prestige Concrete and Edging, and he covered a lot more ground than the name suggests. Yes, he does concrete, driveways, patios, and hardscaping, but as a Class A licensed contractor he also takes on full builds, renovations, and ADUs. Basically he can pour your driveway or build you a whole second dwelling, and everything in between. 🔨

What came through most is that Luis is part craftsman, part artist, and part scientist. He blends an eye for design with the technical side of the trade, using top-quality materials and the science behind proper mixes, drainage, and grading to make sure every project is as sound as it is good looking. That mix of artistry and know-how is exactly why his clients keep coming back and passing his name along. 🎨🔬

A big thank you to Kimmie Worden of The Service Company of Virginia for sharing an eye-opening look at the meaningful work her team does throughout our community. One of the most memorable parts of her spotlight was hearing about the group's work in youth residential homes that serve children and teens who are at high risk of entering the juvenile justice system. Rather than simply renovating these facilities, Kimmie and her team thoughtfully design spaces that are safer, more durable, and better suited to the unique needs of the youth who live there. 🏠

She shared examples of creating specialized protective wall systems to help safeguard gaming and recreation equipment, reducing damage while giving residents positive outlets to enjoy.
