This is what happens when someone sends me feedback about BarnBuddy. 👇

I start by figuring out the actual problem—not just immediately adding whatever was suggested. I look at why the current feature is frustrating, whether other livestock owners might have the same issue, and what would make it easier without overcomplicating BarnBuddy.

Then I plan the change, build it, test it, find the parts that don’t work, and usually make several adjustments before it’s ready. Some of BarnBuddy’s best improvements have started with one person simply telling me, “This is confusing,” or “I wish it could do this.”

That’s why real feedback matters so much. You’re not just leaving a comment—you could be helping shape the next BarnBuddy feature.

FFA chapters can now ask about discounted BarnBuddy Premium access! 💙💛

I want BarnBuddy to be affordable for chapters that have multiple members keeping livestock and SAE records. Instead of every student paying the regular individual price, chapter discounts can be arranged based on the number of members who need access.

Premium includes FFA Mode, automatic reminders, PDF record exports, financial tracking, reproduction tools, and other features that can help members keep their information organized throughout the year—not just when record books are due.

Why does BarnBuddy have a free plan? BarnBuddy is ment for small smalls and students. I know myself that extra programs might not be in the budget and money is focused somewhere else. So I aimed to make BarnBuddy still usable with the free plan.

This feature took way longer to build than I expected… 😅

BarnBuddy’s reproduction tools sounded pretty simple at first: add breeding information, keep important dates organized, and make it easier to follow an animal’s breeding history. But once I started building it, I realized how many different situations, species, dates, and details it needed to handle.

There was a lot of testing, changing things, fixing problems, and then testing everything again—but I wanted it to be genuinely useful for small breeders instead of being another complicated feature nobody understands.

It took longer than planned, but seeing it finally work made all that time worth it. What reproduction or breeding information would you want BarnBuddy to track?
