She is a recent graduate of Waiakea High School and a recipient of our $2,500 HFS FCU Scholarship! 🎉 Kyrie will be attending the Oregon Institute of Technology in the Fall, majoring in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.

Please join us in congratulating Kyrie - we look forward to seeing all that she will achieve as she heads off to college!

Pouli: a period of darkness in the brightest night.

Did you behold the Pouli Ka Mahina (eclipse of the moon) in the wee hours this morning? Did you watch as Mahina entered Manaiakalani (the Scorpio constellation) and danced through the sky with Antares, the brightest star in Manaiakalani before her light was shrouded by Earth’s shadow between 1:11 a.m. and 1:25 a.m.?

What, you missed that? 🖐 So did a lot of us. That was early. Or was it late? Either way, here’s your “constellation prize,” with a Milky Way bonus, as seen from Mauna Loa Road.
