What an incredible 35+ years of EA!

Mahalo nui to the educators, students, parents, and community members who took that leap of faith with us, even when there was no roadmap, choosing instead to trust in the ʻike and pathways laid by our kūpuna.

Along the way, there were challenges, doubters, and those who questioned the vision. But we never stopped, because we believed in the power of Education with Aloha.

For more than three decades, that belief has guided us, and it continues to prove true today. As we celebrate this milestone, we look forward to the next 35 years of uplifting our lāhui, strengthening our communities, and continuing to grow that critical mass.

Because we not pau yet.

And here they are! Our very own ʻIʻini and Makana FIRST PLACE WINNERS in the 2026 Portuguese Bean Soup Competition held at Haina in honor of Honokaʻaʻs Western Week. This time, they served their 2024 prize winning Imu Bean Soup in a delicious pot pie featuring ʻIʻiniʻs killer pie crust. Congratulations ʻIʻini and Makana.

We are excited to announce the return of Kūkulu Kumuhana to Waipiʻo Valley, hosted by Kū-A-Kanaka and the Kahakalau ʻohana. 🌿

Rooted in its original mission from the 1990s, Kūkulu Kumuhana continues to uphold aloha ʻāina, ʻike kūpuna, and the perpetuation of ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi and culture.

Set in the ʻili of Kūnaka, this immersive summer program invites youth, ʻohana, and educators to engage in meaningful hands-on learning through hoʻokahua, wahipana, hana noʻeau, Kanaka Kitchen, and much more. Participants will build lasting relationships, deepen their connection to culture and place, and ignite the next generation of ʻōiwi leaders.
