🚨FOUND ALIVE 🚨
MARY ELIZABETH DICKERSON

Lewis County Sheriff Matt Tiller confirms:
“Liz was found this morning responsive as her same sweet self, sitting in the woods about a mile from her home. She spent days out there, with a day and half of that in the rain.” He went on to say, “Thursday, there were THP helicopters, TBI planes, numerous people on horseback, K9 dogs, and agencies with drones. Today, over 200 people joined them. Thanks so much to everyone involved for their diligence and effort in this matter. We are blessed with this outcome and are beyond thankful to every single person involved. Liz was flown to a nearby hospital to be evaluated, get fluids and a bite to eat.”
According to deputies on-scene when she was found, she was coherent and the first thing she said she wanted something to drink and eat!

Mary Elizabeth Dickerson, 85, has been found alive following an extensive three-day search in Lewis County, Tennessee.

The search was coordinated by the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from numerous agencies across the state, local organizations, and community members and continued throughout hot days, dark nights, hard rain, and cooler temperatures following.

Dickerson was reported missing after leaving her residence in the 300 block of Upper Trace Creek Road on foot. A Silver Alert was issued to notify the public and assist in locating her. Time was of the essence in finding her with impending rain and temperature drops.

But we did it! Lewis County, Tennessee, as it never fails to do, came together and didn’t give up until the job was done, for one of our own, Liz!

The Lewis County Herald thanks the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office, assisting agencies, local organizations, volunteers, and citizens who participated in the search and helped circulate information regarding Dickerson’s disappearance.
