What happens when a PKGD Film becomes a filmmaker’s vision from beginning to end?

The Chant of Silence documentary created by Ale García, was selected to participate in One Day Doc by The AOD, where it was awarded Best Cinematography in the Emerging Film category.

Set in the Zona del Silencio in Durango, the film follows José Luis, known as El Chamán, a harvester of agave and sotol whose daily life reflects the depth, discipline, and humanity behind this place. More than telling the story of one man, the documentary seeks to capture and preserve a reality that belongs entirely to this region (its silence, its rhythm, its people, and the work that shapes it).

After being filmed in a single day and completed under challenging conditions, the documentary went on to receive international recognition through The AOD, earning the award for Best Cinematography among more than 100 entries.
