It has been a pleasure to serve the Columbia River Gorge community for the past two years.
I started Gorge Hired in the begining of 2021 to address the disconnect between job seekers and businesses hiring in the Gorge. My mission was to become the go-to job board for the Columbia River Gorge through social media engagement, quality job postings and descriptions, and an easy-to-use platform for both employers and job seekers. I am proud to say I accomplished this mission, and in the process grew professionaly by understanding how to start, run, and grow a business firsthand.
I most of all enjoyed helping the job seekers and small business owners of this community. I can proudly say I have helped many people find amazing jobs in this community, and in turn helped many small businesses improve their hiring practices. I hope my platform helped elevate in this community conversations around hiring bias, wage transparency, and promoted equity in all aspects of recruiting and hiring.
It was a difficult decision, but my professional aspirations are taking me in a direction away from Recruiting and Human Resources. Pausing Gorge Hired will allow me to focus my spare time and energy on further persuing a career in Data Analytics, tech, and of course spend more time with my new dog 🙂
