Whitened vs non-whitened and the process behind it.

All mounts at one point look like the ones that aren’t whitened. Once fleshed and down to bone they hit the degrease process. After getting the heads out of the 4-6 week degrease process that’s what they look like, a yellowish orange tint. Once out we let them dry 5-7 days, they will whiten up a little during that time. The reason for the dry time is a saying that we have learned to be true over time “nothing whitens better than dry bone”

A truly time consuming process ( 2 months in some cases ) but well worth it. Although difficult at times we enjoy it. I mean, somebody’s gotta do it 🤷🏻‍♂️😎🦌🦌

Got a couple that we had in solution sprayed off this evening. Time to dry and they should be ready to hit the road. 🦌...
