🐍 A Cool Backyard Encounter!

While working in my yard today, I came across this beautiful Black Rat Snake.

Even though they can be a little startling when you first see one, Black Rat Snakes are non-venomous and are actually some of the best neighbors you can have around. They help control mice and rats naturally, making them an important part of Arkansas’s ecosystem.

As the owner of Pesty Phil’s Pest Control, I always enjoy opportunities to teach people about the difference between beneficial wildlife and true pest problems. Not every snake needs to be feared, and this one was simply passing through, doing its job.

I admired it from a safe distance and let it continue on its way.
