❄️ Winter Storm Safety & Home Preparation Reminder ❄️
A major snowstorm is heading our way, and we want to remind everyone to stay safe, prepared, and protect their homes. A little planning now can help prevent damage and keep your family safe.
Prepare your home BEFORE the storm:
• Insulate or drip faucets to help prevent frozen pipes
• Know where your main water shut-off is located
• Check your furnace and replace filters if needed
• Clear gutters and drains so melting snow can flow properly
• Bring in outdoor furniture, trash cans, and loose items
• Trim or watch for weak tree limbs near your home
• Stock salt or ice melt for walkways and entry points
General preparation:
• Stock up on food, water, medications, and pet supplies
• Charge phones, battery packs, and flashlights
• Move vehicles off the street if possible
• Check on elderly neighbors, friends, and family
During the storm:
• Stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary
• Keep walkways clear only if safe to do so
• Use space heaters properly and never leave them unattended
• Avoid overexertion while shoveling
• Monitor weather alerts and power outage updates
After the storm:
• Watch for ice, roof snow buildup, and downed power lines
• Clear snow gradually to avoid injury
• Check for water leaks or damage once temperatures rise
• Look out for neighbors who may need help
At Buckeye Demo, our priority is the safety of our community. Stay warm, stay safe, and take care of each other. 🤍❄️
