Is your electric plan on a variable rate? You NEED to be on a fixed plan before this storm hits. During the last winter storm, people were charged as much as 3.00/kWh. Currently it is about .08-.09.

YOUR ELECTRIC RATE JUST INCREASED - even if you are locked into a contract. CenterPoint's new rate is 5.46/ kWh, an increase of 1.7 cents/ kWh over the rate customers have paid since March 1, 2023. For a customer using 3000 kWhs a month, you will pay an extra $51 after Sept. 1. In Texas New Mexico Power's service area, TDSP charges went up by 1.5 cents/ kWh.

DON’T FALL FOR THIS!!
A client saw this 9.2 cent rate on Power to Choose. It’s an all in rate. I asked her to send me the EFL. The energy rate is actually 17.53 cents (All in would be about 21.53) You get a credit if you use equal to/more than 1000kwh of 125.00. This averages out to 9.2 cents if you use 1000kwh. If you use more or less then you are paying A LOT more. If you aren’t sure - ask. We have no problem telling you to take the better offer. I hate this misrepresentation.
