💙 May is Asthma & Allergy Awareness Month.

Most people don’t realize that asthma is more than just needing an inhaler.

I’ve lived with chronic asthma for most of my life, and something as simple as laughing too hard, crying, getting excited, allergies, stress, or changes in the weather can affect my breathing.

What people don’t see is the emotional side of it. When you’ve experienced not being able to catch your breath, you learn not to take breathing for granted. You become aware of things others never have to think about.

Asthma is often invisible, but it is very real. And in severe cases, an asthma attack can become life-threatening very quickly.

That’s why awareness matters. Not for sympathy, but for understanding.

So this month, take a moment to learn about asthma and other chronic conditions that people may be silently living with every day.

Because sometimes the battles people are fighting can’t be seen at all.
