Social Platforms have the power to be ♿️

I work in digital marketing for many clients. All day, on several different feeds, I see and interact with content within many industries. It's extremely overwhelming at times and can cause me to involuntarily throw my phone away from me. (Balance is important) 🧘‍♀️

Looking at these different feeds and different platforms all day shows me where the glitches are, and where the need for improvement is. I often try to think about it from the standpoint of others with disabilities as well.

➡️ What changes do you think would be beneficial features for social media platforms? Here are a few suggestions I want to highlight (I have many.)

● Report videos that may trigger Epilepsy

-I often come across videos that flash, camera movements that are disorienting, and lighting that causes headaches.

● Slow down posts that don't use alt text or that do so inappropriately

-Some digital marketing creators that pride themselves as experts in the field have been teaching their followers to use alt text as a way to type keywords. What you write should naturally have keywords, but listing unassociated words with improper grammar is not accessible to the audience that needs this feature.

● Add the ability to put the platform in Still Mode to reduce visual overstimulation

-Being able to switch off the movements of videos would not only help with focus but would aid those who are overstimulated by visual movements or are harmed by certain editing styles. It would also give viewers a chance to read any trigger warnings before viewing the content.

● Add the ability to switch to color blindness mode

-This function exists for websites and should also exist for social platforms. It will help train users and creators to use their colors more effectively for impact and viewing capability as well as be accessible.

It's that time of year to help those in need. Honestly it shouldn't just be during this time of year but here is an opportunity to help Houstonians out. I'm collecting new blankets and socks for the homeless. Does anyone know and quilting or knitting clubs by chance? Would love to get them involved.

Ahhmazing! This new restaurant has it's grand opening tomorrow (hours are 7am-5pm), I came for the soft opening and met with the owners. Everyone is incredibly kind. Now, about the place:

Restaurant style- Australian Coffee, Cafe, Healthy options with fresh ingredients.

Coffee- Incredible flavor, texture, and quality. The baristas were super kind when I was indecisive about what I wanted. The staff in general were good about this. I had a classic latte and espresso just for baseline understanding of their coffee. Top notch latte art for the esthetic as well. They make their vanilla with Madagascar vanilla in-house. The espresso had a nice fruited undertone. I drank it cold because I take too long to take photos but it didn't make it any less flavorful. I'll definitely drink it hot next time, I swear. Ha.

The staff- Everyone is so sweet! There are a lot of people working here so there is always someone available to help out. It was pretty busy when I came too just for reference. The general manager was so helpful with the menu and knowledgeable about each item. The wait staff was always willing and ready to help as well.

The backstory- The owners were there and were an absolute joy to be around. The original location opened up in New York and they now have over 50 locations in the US. This is the first location in Houston and they have more on the way within the next year.

The food- Mmm so fresh! They carry some of the best pastries in town as well. The pancakes were not just gorgeous but so flavorful. They have a delightful lemon curd on top with fresh fruit and edible flowers. I also got the Athletes wrap which I had later on. Just perfect, nice and balanced. Just what I needed after a long workout. Everything was so beautifully plated and crafted.

This restaurant is an instant favorite and I look forward to their presence in Houston. I will definitely be back to test out more or their menu and drink options.

This is my best friend. I asked her to join me in the world of digital marketing and just like she always does, she gives her whole heart and says yes. This woman right here deserves to be celebrated. She makes me laugh, makes work fun, gives it meaning even. I never knew I could start a business from nothing and bring my best friend along on the journey but I'm so glad I did. She understands me, always has, and I'm so fortunate to have her in my life. This is Catrina, and she's the sister I got to choose. ❤👯‍♂️

On Sunday, October 24th, 2021, from 9am to 11am, 3930 Ego will be hosting their first-ever Community Yard Sale. 3930Ego will supply the space and you can clean out your house and supply the stuff to sale. Teaming up with 3930 Ego is Chef Jennifer Hoffman and her legendary Big Macs fatcaron cookies.
What is a Fatcaron? A fatcaron is a Korean-Japanese-style macaron. The traditional French macaron uses a sweeter filling with less quantity. The Big Mac's fatcaron uses more filling but it's far less sweet than a traditional macaron. Chef Jennifer has a knack for balancing the sweetness of her cookies in a way that will blow your taste buds away. This beautifully crafted cookie is one that is full of sass and mass and you'll want to test out each flavor.

The flavors she will have available will be the following:

Creme Brulee
Oreo Cookies & Cream
Lemon Sea Salt
Pig Bar

Finally! Someone who can actually cut my hair right!! Judy is the owner of 3930Ego and she is incredible. Not only is she super sweet, bonus points, but she can work a pair of scissors like a magician.

Okay, about the experience: I came for a full wash, cut, and style. I've been growing my hair out super long and especially my bangs so I can change up the straight bang look. The hair wash is traditionally one of my favorite parts because it's just so relaxing. For the cut, I gave her free reigns with the only stipulation being to keep it as long as possible. I knew I needed to lose about 2 to 4 inches of dead-ends and to add layers. I have a ton of hair and it gets extremely heavy so I needed layers. Headaches aren't fun.

About the style: I absolutely love what she did! She gave me a dream cut. I'm low maintenance when it comes to doing my hair so I don't want a style I have to mess with every day. I basically get out of the shower, air dry my hair, and boom 💥 perfect hairstyle! I get so many compliments and I literally do nothing to my hair. I model too so it's nice to just show up on set and have hair ready to go.

3930Ego was chosen as Houston's Best Of The Best as a hair salon this year and it's 100% accurate. Judy got Best Of The Best as a Stylist and it's so deserved. I highly recommend this salon and spa. They just added a massage Therapist as well as a Permanent Makeup and Eyelash specialist so those are next on my list to try. 10 out of 10.

I can now say I've had the pleasure of visiting MASS MoCA , my now new favorite museum to visit! Growing up, I always had a thing for textures. I never understood why but I would have reoccurring dreams of large rocky like textures, much like the 5th picture actually. It was an incredible experience full of multi-level experiences that had you traveling through various tunnels of artwork to get to the next section. I was honestly the first time going to the museum meant getting to have an experience in just walking through the museum itself.
Mass MoCA was once a factory 🏭 "wholesale shoe manufacturers; a brick yard; a saw mill; cabinet-makers; hat manufacturers; machine shops for the construction of mill machines; marble works; wagon- and sleigh-makers; and an ironworks, which later forged armor plates for the Civil War ship, the Monitor," to be exact.
It's like it was converted into something living and breathing the way people flow through It's vessels.
I look forward to my next visit for sure. It's certainly a must see.
