Living Raw:
Real life is when you plan and practice and prepare for big moments and then don’t get to do them because of illness.
First Parker started out sick and missed his 1st grade performance where he had a speaking part as an adorably funny little pig. Then Emily got sick and missed her Living museum presentation where she was going to be Simone Biles. It’s that time of year where there’s always something and that phrase, “ain’t nobody got time to be sick” rings true. We had bought the costumes, planned and practiced all the lines, I got a substitute to cover my class so I could see them, and then didn’t get to go participate. Both kids experienced a time where there were some tears and disappointment. But in the end, Parker got a new homemade book that is full of “Parker’s affirmations” and Emily said she would rather miss the Living Museum instead of the 5th grade day, so she was understanding and optimistic. 😊
