After waiting 3.5 years for CFE to allow us to export our surplus solar to the grid, we are finally able to at our home. Starting April 13th our Bi-Directional Meter was installed and we began exporting. We chose the Net Billing contract option and are expecting our first bill soon. Finally we get to see that perfect bell shaped solar production curve.

Home Customers in Mexico who consume too much electricity over a rolling 12 month period are switched over to a very expensive rate called the DAC - Domestico Alto Consumo.

Use too much electricity at your home in Mexico and the DAC Rate kicks in. Known as "Doméstico alto consumo" in Spanish, it effecively doubles your bill.
