So happy the algorithm gods decided to suggest a positive news article to me to close out the end of the month. 😅

One of my former bosses was featured in the and she is . I started working at 16 years old and it wasn’t until I started working with her at the age of 28 that I got to witness a world where you can joyfully go to work and not have to put on a facade. She created a safe space for her team to be weird, and caring, and leaders in the community.

I try to be mindful about the type of media I consume, but every so often, I zone out and get stuck in the endless scroll. 🙈

Today, an article about a Houston couple putting the T & Q in LGBTQ caught my eye, so obviously I had to read it. 🫶🏾

As I finished, I saw a familiar name in the “related story section” — Sabuco. For those of you that don’t know, I worked with Tina and her AMAZING team at Arts Alive! a few years ago. It was the first place that made me feel like I could show up as my authentic self, be valued for my contributions, and still feel like I was making a difference. (If you really know me, you know that these are values that I hold dear to my heart). ❤️

So, I’m super excited to share Tina’s feature from the HoustonPress. She talks about her story as a member of the LGBTQ community and her company. I really admire that she was able to create a business that is so authentic to who she is while also allowing her to make an impact in the lives of others.

There are so many great nuggets in the article, but here’s one that really resonated with me. 👇🏾

“…Being accepted for being weird or however you are created, that is Arts Alive!. I created something that embraces that everybody can be whomever they want to be and do whatever they want to do. There is definitely a direct relationship between the philosophies at Arts Alive! about igniting the joy in everybody and being joyful in whatever you do that translates into feeling good about who you are.”

So in the spirit of Tina, on this last day of Pride Month, I want to remind you to be YOU! Find your groove in what lights you up. And of course…

Happy Father’s Day! ♥️

👋🏾Many of us are celebrating Father’s Day today in the US. But did you know today is also Juneteenth? It still baffles me that I didn’t learn about this until I went to college 🙄.

Let me give you the run down.

🎩In 1863, President Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation declaring all enslaved people free.

📜It wasn’t until more than two years later, in June of 1865, that U.S. Army troops arrived in Galveston Bay, Texas to officially announce and enforce emancipation.

Texas was the last state of the Confederacy in which enslaved people officially gained their freedom. ✊🏽(Slavery still occurred in certain territories after this, but that’s another story for a different day.)

So, we celebrate June Nineteenth (Juneteenth) each year across the US. Why? For the same reasons we celebrate the 4th of July. It’s Black Independence Day. 🫶🏾 In 2021, Biden came through and officially declared Juneteenth a federal holiday. 🎉

I’m super excited to share that one of my biz besties Beth Woods of Rosewood Solutions, LLC has started a podcast and it’s gonna be sooooo good!!!!

She is amazingly intuitive, conscious, and knowledgeable. I’ve learned so much about the divine feminine and how I can leverage both flow and structure in my business from her.

I CANNOT wait to learn more from her and support her podcast. If you have any interest in holistic wellness, healing, and becoming more aligned with your feminine wisdom then you’re going to love this podcast 😉!

I come from a family of writers. GOOD writers. Good communicators. Growing up I struggled to communicate my inner world and the nuances it held. I felt like I could never fully explain what I was thinking and it created a lot of distance for me in relationships. It caused me to withdraw a lot and stay fully engaged in my own mind where I could understand me.

As I have explored the feminine and ancestral wisdom I slowly found my voice and realized a lot of other women were feeling the same way. In finding my feminine, I freed myself and found my voice.

Sometimes I write, but I believe the spoken word is powerful and as women, we are creators and the frequency of our words create our worlds.

This podcast serves as a space for freeing the feminine and all the nuances of our beautiful inner worlds. We will discuss ancestral wisdom from the women who came before, we will talk about periods and s*x and the sacred topics that have been hidden and labeled as taboo. We will talk about what the feminine is and what it isn’t. We will honor the masculine in ourselves and in our partners.
We will talk about all the different elements of the feminine , women in business, motherhood, sisterhood, health, beauty, physical emotional spaces, self defense and protecting your family and more!

This is not a place for men bashing or surface level discussion. There is nothing off limits. This is going to get real and raw and I cannot wait.

Today marks the first day of my favorite season! 🍁 This change of seasons is both literal and figurative for SHERO Support. I’ve been sensing a shift in my business and preparing for what’s to come. Fall 2021 will definitely be one to remember.
