Church hurt is real but often so ignored!

I saw this quote that was so vividly true about how we handle mental health issues in the church. "The Christian army is the only army that shoots and buries its wounded” ~ Dr. Freddie Gauge

The quote is a great but sad metaphor that discusses certain Christian communities that tend to harshly judge and ostracize members who are struggling or experiencing personal difficulties, essentially "shooting their own wounded" by rejecting them instead of offering support and healing.

We can do better. Christ gave us the blueprint to love, care for, and support our "wounded" because we all go through tough times. The same wounded are expected to also be there for church members, their families, and anyone else who reaches out. Can't give out of our emptiness.
