It’s been a little over a year now, so I can start talking about our big transition! A little over a year ago I sold a business after my two year old’s Autism diagnosis. I was unsure and scared about what his future would look like and I was scared about not being a business owner operator. (I really loved it!)

It’s been the best decision to not run a business that was primarily nights and weekends and focus on Micah getting early intervention therapy. This looked like ABA therapy, speech and OT therapy, nutrition supplements, and lots of eye contact and love. In less than a year and a half he has made tremendous progress like speaking clearer and is just so freaking happy and playful. Our social situations are getting better like going to meet Santa, trick-or-treating and birthday parties.

And when I sold my business, I thought I would be a full-time SAHM but thank goodness that wasn’t in the cards for me. I wish I could be home 100%, but I’m built to build connections and relationships with other people and help them succeed in their goals. I’ve been working with a commercial real estate firm and offer insight as a business owner who has experience with buildout, landlords, and “what I would have done differently.” And most of our business is working with bars and restaurants in Houston, how fun is that!?

I will always be an entrepreneur and yes, going from CEO to mom again has been a pivot! I’m continuing to learn how to incorporate more joy, embrace, imperfection, and have more buffer space instead of planning everything back to back.

What an inspiring and amazing night supporting with special chef spoiling us with 5 courses! The passion of community and good food was definitely felt. PX is an amazing project that helps create future chefs for young people and empower them with culinary and life skills. We are so excited what they are doing and happy to be a part of!

PS-if you visit campus in Sharpstown on Bellaire you will see over a dozen of .joubert paintings!

Today’s coffee stop was actually a green juice! Oh my goodness I can’t believe I got my picky eater to 💚 the Cactus juice (blend) 🤩 If you are in the Spring Branch area you have to stop by- warning, it might be hard to say no to the cases of amazing pastries. Super friendly neighborhood gem. And they are a full restaurant with breakfast, lunch, dinner, and brunch. We will definitely be back from more green juice, and to try their made with honey sugar-free carrot cookie. 🍪

Haha, when you have a parent win in the morning, it’s going to be a great day 😊

Happy birthday to my two Scorpios! ♏️ I can’t believe my babies turned 21 and 16! Mom Brag, these guys are so intelligent, funny and sweet. I’m so lucky to be your mom. A little bittersweet… It’s the first birthday they are off doing their own thing 😭
