Devin's story is a reminder that addiction is a long, painful struggle that affects entire families.

Micah Sawyer, Sr. of Sebastopol, California, shares the story of losing his son, Micah Sawyer Jr., to an illicit fentanyl poisoning. Micah Jr. was a popular, accomplished athlete and his father's best friend, but behind his success he was struggling with opioid addiction. After years of attempts at recovery, including detox and treatment programs, Micah Jr. relapsed after more than seven months clean and died after smoking black tar he**in contaminated with fentanyl. In the aftermath of his son's death, Micah confronted the devastating grief of losing a child and began turning that pain into action.
