You may remember…
A few months ago I was deep in my Yin Yoga bag.
Showing up every week…
stretching more than muscle.
Finding parts of myself I didn’t know were still holding on.
I’m not practicing as faithfully these days,
but Yin left me with a lessons I’ll carry for the rest of my life.
Breathe!
Not because the pain disappears.
Not because the grief gets lighter.
Not because my story suddenly makes sense.
I’m Breathing TODAY
because i feel the next breath is the bridge between surviving this moment and living to see the next one.
My Yin angel would gently whisper,
“breathe into that space”
I thought she was talking about tight hips.
Turns out…
she was preparing me for heartbreak.
These days I don’t have much to offer.
No jokes.
No spiritual nuggets
No PRIDE exhalation .
No Tiny Teenager reflections
I do have this invitation.
When life delivers the kind of ache that steals language…
when your chest feels too heavy to carry…
Breathe….
Fill your lungs.
Empty them.
Then do it again, and again, and again
Because sometimes breathing is the only prayer we can pray…
and today, breathing is all I’ve got… I AM Phoenix
