🥁Attention Leaders 🥁
The most valuable thing I ever did in my career was to seek development. What I learned on my journey was that you are blessed if someone offers you development but don't expect it. Development is something you must seek for yourself.
As a leader, it is critical that you determine the kind of leader you desire to be. How do you want to serve your team? How do you want to serve your community? What characteristics do you want to exhibit?
I love to learn. Learning excites me and even more than learning, sharing what I've learned with others is a delight.
I started VRE Training Solutions to share ALL the lessons I've learned through seeking development.
Strong leadership is the cornerstone of thriving communities. Our new leadership development programs at VRE Training Solutions equip leaders with the skills to drive positive change.
We partner with organizations to develop the next generation of community leaders by focusing on building skills in strategic planning, team management, and ethical leadership, all grounded in principles of financial literacy (a partnership with EEGlobally.org) and sustainability.
If you are seeking leadership development to grow your career, business or nonprofit, here are 5 things to consider...
5 Things You Need to Know About Seeking Leadership Development:
1. Self-Awareness is Key: Understanding your strengths, weaknesses, and leadership style is the foundation of effective leadership development. Self-reflection and seeking feedback from others can help you identify areas for improvement.
2. Continuous Learning: Leadership is not a one-time achievement but a continuous journey. Stay curious, seek out new knowledge, and be open to learning from a variety of sources, including books, workshops, mentors, and real-life experiences.
3. Emotional Intelligence Matters: Effective leaders are emotionally intelligent. This means they are self-aware, able to manage their emotions, empathetic, and good at managing relationships. Developing your emotional intelligence can significantly enhance your leadership abilities.
4. Networking is Crucial: Building a strong network of professional relationships can provide you with valuable insights, support, and opportunities. Engage with other leaders, join professional organizations, and participate in industry events to expand your network.
5. Practical Experience is Essential: Theory and training are important, but nothing beats hands-on experience. Look for opportunities to take on leadership roles, even in small projects or volunteer activities. Real-world experience will help you apply what you've learned and develop your skills.
Leadership development is an ongoing process, and staying committed to growth will pay off in the long run!
