Greater Metropolitan Safety Council

Greater Metropolitan Safety Council Providing first aide, CPR, basic and advanced safety and rescue classes for your business. Our courses range from AHA CPR to more advanced rescue classes.

Founded in 1991, Greater Metropolitan Safety Council (GMSC) began as a way to allow local businesses to assure that their employees were trained in case an emergency occurred at their place of business. We provide our services at your location with instructors who are trained firefighters and paramedics. Contact us and we can discuss how to assure that your employees are ready to serve your customers and the community in case of an emergency.

2019 proves to be a challenging year for GMSC! We have renewed our contract with Galveston County, we look forward to doing our industry classes throughout the year, and we are in a position to launch FLOAT!
FLOAT is our Flood Operations Assist Team that we are putting together at the original request of the Houston Fire Department! We are starting to accept donations to this 501(c)(3) charitable organization in hopes of raising the $500,000. needed to get started.
We will be reaching out to those in our communities who have PWC's and would like to join and train with FLOAT soon.
We hope to have the group in place to respond in time for this year's storm season! Keep checking back for updates!

It is going to be a hot day a long the Texas Gulf Coast. Make sure you stay hydrated and protect yourselves and others from extreme heat.

Heat index values today will range between 102 to 105 degrees across SE TX. The heat index or apparent temperature is an approximation of how hot it "feels" for a combination of air and relative humidity. Make sure to stay hydrated and protect yourself from the heat!

Make sure you this summer. Stay in during the hottest part of the day and drink water.
