How do you know when it's time?

This is one of the hardest questions adult children face. There's no single answer, but there are clear signs:

🔴 Multiple falls at home in the past year
🔴 Medication errors or missed doses
🔴 Unexplained weight loss or poor nutrition
🔴 Social isolation and withdrawn behavior
🔴 Caregiver burnout in the family
🔴 Home becoming unsafe (stairs, clutter, poor lighting)

If you checked 2 or more, it may be time for an honest conversation — and we can help you have it. We specialize in senior living placement for Houston families.

🚨 Texas is one of just 6 states in a new Medicare pilot program and if your parent is on traditional Medicare, this affects them now.

Starting in 2026, certain medical services and equipment in Texas require prior authorization before Medicare pays. This means your parent's doctor may need extra approval steps for procedures or medical equipment and delays are possible.

ALSO new in 2026: Medicare Part D now caps out-of-pocket drug costs at $2,100/year. For seniors on multiple medications, this is significant savings.

Our advisors help Houston families understand how these changes interact with your parent's Medicare Advantage or supplement plan. One review call could save thousands.

Gone are the days of sterile hallways and blaring televisions. The best memory care communities in Houston are vibrant, purposeful environments with music therapy, sensory gardens, structured daily routines, and staff who genuinely know each resident.

'We'll figure it out when the time comes.'

We hear this from Houston families every week and we understand why. Planning for a parent's care feels overwhelming, even scary. But here's what the data says:

✅ Average assisted living in Houston: ~$5,100/month
✅ Memory care: $6,350–$7,570/month
✅ Private in-home care: $24–$26/hour

Families who plan 3–5 years ahead have 2–3x more options in placement choices AND insurance eligibility. Waiting until a health crisis limits both.

If your parents are in their late 60s or 70s, yesterday was the best time to plan, but today is the planning window. We're here to walk you through it with no pressure, no sales pitch.

⚠️ Houston families: Federal law is changing how home care gets funded for Texas seniors, and most families haven't realized it yet.

The One Big Beautiful Bill Act (signed July 2025) is already rolling out Medicaid cuts, and the first programs likely to shrink are Home & Community Based Services (HCBS), the very programs that pay for in-home caregivers.

Translation: if your parent qualifies for Medicaid home care today, that access may become harder by 2027. While most families that we work with often don't qualify for Medicaid anyway, these changes further signal private long-term care insurance or home healthcare policies may be your family's most important safety net right now.

In this walk-through, we explain how we help families throughout Houston find the right senior living facility for their loved ones from independent living to assisted living, and memory care.

Before your parent moves into a senior living community, or even starts the search process, there are four documents that should already be in order. Missing even one of them can stall a placement, create family conflict, or leave critical healthcare decisions in limbo. Here they are:
📄 Durable Power of Attorney
📄 Healthcare Proxy / Medical Power of Attorney
📄 Current Advance Directive or Living Will
📄 Up-to-date insurance documentation (including any Medigap or LTCi policies).

If you're not sure whether all four are current and accessible, that's the first conversation to have with an estate attorney. We can help point you in the right direction if you don't know one.

If you need help finding the right senior living placement after that? We're here.

The phone calls we never forget are the ones that start with: 'We should have called sooner.' A parent in the hospital with no plan in place. A family trying to find memory care in 72 hours. A sibling disagreement that's been building for months finally breaking at the worst possible moment.

We're not sharing this to frighten you. We're sharing it because the families who plan ahead, who start the conversation before it's urgent, almost always have better outcomes, more choices, and significantly less financial strain. This video is for the Houston family that's starting to wonder if now is the time to learn more. It is. And it costs nothing to talk.
