Ok, now I'm doing proper thermoforming! This was the fitment test print for a bunch of awards I'm making, and I wanted to have a waving banner. I could have printed it upright and incurred dozens of material swaps and lower over-all quality of the text (the final version is multi-colored), but instead I want to print them face down.

So I drew up a little mold and printed it in HT-PLA-GF. Made a little foil tent for it and threw it in the air fryer at 200° (Freedom units) for half an hour.

I was able to blast this Polyterra with the heat gun until it had the consistency of hot chewing gum and the form stayed rock solid the whole time. I love how a

We have this lamp that the bulbs poked up out of the little cone shades it came with, so every time I looked at it it hurt my eyes. I also had a bunch of mostly-empty clear PETG spools, so... I just lied to my AMS that they were all the same and let them auto-refill as I went.

I drew up some taller, banded shades. Now the bulbs are actually completely inside the shade so I don't blind myself when looking at this lamp!

Made the whole thing around running a 0.6mm nozzle with 0.9mm wide lines so it's a faux-vase mode where it's only two walls thick, avoiding the ugly holes that come from material changes in vase mode prints. I wish the silver were just a little shinier, but... they work well!

Playing with thermoforming... kinda.

The idea is printing a round ring flat then heating it up and letting it cool inside a mold. Getting the shape right wasn't too bad, but it really wants to end up segmented so I've got a better mold printing now with a tray to help evenly heat it first - hopefully letting me get it a little hotter. I'll add a video of the results soon!

We got a steam cleaner on Prime day.

I burned my finger on the extension rod multiple times cleaning the shower.

Drew out a heat shield for it and loaded the PC in the printer.

Problem solved. I love having a printer 😊

I've seen a lot of those "convincing my wife the printer is worth it" posts... so here's mine: 10 minutes in Fusion and an hour print later and we have stable ramekin stackers! 🤣

I haven't shared much recently because most of what I've been making has been incredibly bespoke, but I figured I should share _something_. so here's last night's design - an unnecessarily complicated replacement case for a speech development toy!

Really bummed I didn't get a better click out of the lid, but it's juuust enough to work so I'm not printing it again 🤣

When that memory comes up of the first retail kit printer I bought it always makes me chuckle. Took nearly a week for me to realize I had the printer configured for volumetric extrusion instead of linear 🤣

It really is incredible how far we've come!

I love making triple-start threads and sliding top boxes - they're so pleasing to use. Using PETG means they won't melt in the car or backpack as well.

My littlest one has a ton of hair accessories, and we were tired of digging through boxes and drawers to find *just* the right one that she *has* to have. I drew up a Skadis-mounted system that has a bunch of various sized hangers that not only manages the mess, but also lets her easily look through the collection and find just the right one.

It can be as long as you want if you want to combine it with a 3/16" (5mm) wooden dowel, or you can print a rod up to the maximum your printer can support - I've included rods for each size bed Bambu makes.
