Buddy was located after surviving 65 days on his own. The dog went missing in Monticello while visiting from Waco, Texas during Thanksgiving. Search efforts continued despite harsh winter conditions and a lack of sightings for several weeks.

On January 30 at 5:35 p.m., a trail camera captured an image of Buddy. An individual who recognized him from distributed flyers reported the sighting. A humane trap was set shortly afterward, and coordinated recovery efforts were organized before severe weather conditions returned.

Just before midnight, Buddy entered the trap and was secured safely. After traveling more than eight miles and enduring extreme cold, he was placed in temporary care with a local groomer and experienced dog rescuer. Arrangements were made to transport him back to Texas for reunification with his owners.

This past weekend, Officer Sean Portillo and K9 Deco joined the movie stars for the Golden Globes....well, they joined OUTSIDE the Golden Globes ⭐️ 🚔

While the spotlight stayed on the red carpet, something just as important was happening behind the scenes.

Right there beside Officer Portillo was Deco — a blue-grey Pitbull who represents everything people often get wrong about this breed.

Focused. Loyal. Gentle. Driven.

In a single evening, this incredible dog helped complete 320 explosives detection sweeps on vehicles entering the area — quietly protecting staff, media, celebrities, and every single guest without ever asking for recognition.

No headlines. No applause. Just trust, training, and heart.

Pitbulls are so often misunderstood… labeled before they’re even given a chance.

But dogs like Deco remind us of the truth:
It’s not the breed — it’s the bond, the training, and the love behind them.

Behind every uniform is a partner who would do anything to keep people safe.

And sometimes… that partner has four legs and a heart bigger than most.

Great job, Deco. You didn’t just do your job — you changed a few minds along the way. 🐾💙

🐶✈️ A Delta Air Lines flight traveling from Detroit to Los Angeles made an unexpected stop in Minneapolis after a dog onboard became seriously ill just an hour into the journey.
Flight attendants quickly reached out to a veterinarian, and based on that guidance, the captain made the call to divert the flight. Paramedics were ready upon landing to assist both the pup and its owner ❤️
The delay lasted around 2.5 hours — but the best part? The dog recovered 🙏 Delta later emphasized that the safety of all passengers, including animals, remains a top priority.
Honestly… moments like this remind people that compassion still matters — even at 30,000 feet 🐾👏

My heart shattered the moment she left. 💔🐾

For ten beautiful years, my Presa Canario girl wasn’t just a dog—she was my steady ground in a world that didn’t always feel stable. Strong, loyal, and deeply gentle in ways only she knew how to be… she carried a quiet kind of love that wrapped around me on my hardest days.

She wasn’t loud with her affection.
She didn’t need to be.

It was in the way she followed me from room to room.
The way she rested her head beside me like she understood everything I couldn’t say.
The way her presence alone made the chaos of life feel… manageable.

And now, she lies here surrounded by flowers—so peaceful, so still—like she’s finally resting after a lifetime of loving me with everything she had.

The house feels different tonight.
Too quiet. Too empty.

I keep expecting to hear her slow, familiar footsteps… to feel her beside me again.
But all I’m left with is the silence—and the echo of a love that once filled every corner of my life.

They say big dogs leave big holes behind…

But this?
This feels like losing a piece of my soul.

She gave me ten years of unwavering loyalty, protection, and love—and somehow, it still doesn’t feel like enough.

I don’t know how to exist in a world where she isn’t here anymore…

…but I do know this—

I was loved by her.

And that love will stay with me…
for the rest of my life. 🤍🐶

My neighbor’s Presa Canario has officially decided our house is part of his daily kingdom — and honestly, none of us have the heart to argue with him anymore.

Every single morning, like clockwork, this big handsome boy shows up at our door with the confidence of someone who absolutely believes he owns the place. No hesitation. No second thoughts. Just one serious face, one slow proud walk inside, and one silent announcement that he is here now.

And if that wasn’t enough, some days he arrives wearing that ridiculous little propeller hat like he’s the captain of the neighborhood.

He climbs onto the couch like it was bought specifically for him.
He stares at us until somebody offers a snack.
He settles in like a dog with responsibilities, opinions, and a full schedule to keep.

And the funniest part?

Every time we gently tell him, “Buddy… you don’t actually live here,” he looks at us like we’re the confused ones.

A few minutes later, he’ll wander out… only to come right back again like he’s making rounds at all of his properties.

At this point, we’ve stopped correcting him.

Because the truth is, somewhere along the way, this sweet, stubborn Presa didn’t just make himself comfortable in our home — he made himself part of our hearts.

So now we just let him come in.
We save him a little spot.
We laugh when he acts like the boss of the house.
And we love him exactly the way he is — big, loyal, slightly dramatic, and completely convinced this is his second home.

Maybe he doesn’t remember the rules.

Maybe he doesn’t care.

Either way, around here, he’ll always be welcome.

Caption:
He may not technically live here… but try telling him that. 🐾❤️ Our favorite part-time roommate shows up every day, claims the couch, demands snacks, and acts like he pays the bills. And honestly? We wouldn’t have it any other way.

"About 7:30 this morning a woman came into Home Depot absolutely bawling her eyes out. One of my co-workers brought her back to where a few of us were having a small conversation.

The woman explained that she was looking for some form of crate or box. Confused, we asked what for. She went on to explain that her thirteen year old golden lab had been suffering all weekend and her and her husband finally made the decision to take the pup in to be put down. She said that the dog was a son to them and was actually the best man at their wedding. The Lumber supervisor spoke up and said that while we didn’t necessarily have anything worthy enough to bury a dog in, she would be willing to donate the materials and labor to build a casket for her dog. Almost immediately the woman broke down even more in gratitude.

Three of us began brainstorming a way to design a crate suitable for a puppy burial. About two hours later, with the help of about four others and the blessing of our store managers, we had a fully finished puppy casket. All of us realized this wasn’t about the price of the materials or the lost on-the-clock productivity. This is simply about doing the right thing and helping somebody get through an extremely difficult time. Seeing the tears of closure on the face of the woman after showing her this puppy casket made the whole thing worth it and then some."
