Today was a first for me --My first professional video shoot!

It's funny how something can look so effortless when you're watching someone else do it. Then you step in front of the camera, and suddenly you're wondering...

"What do I do with my hands?" "Am I talking too fast?"

It reminded me that growth rarely feels comfortable.

Whether it's recording your first video, making your first sales call, hiring your first employee, or launching your business... confidence usually comes after you take the first step, not before.

One of my newest clients is growing fast.--It's a good problem to have.

The challenge? He no longer has enough hours in the day to stay connected with all of his distributors.
Hiring another full-time employee didn't make financial sense, but letting those relationships fade wasn't an option.

So, we hired and trained a dedicated virtual assistant to become an extension of his team.

Every week, that VA checks in with distributors, shares promotions, answers routine questions, and makes sure every person feels valued.

The owner still owns the relationship. He just doesn't have to carry every conversation himself.

This weekend I rode one of the newest roller coasters at Six Flags Over Texas. I waited 1.5 hours in the heat to ride something that is 309 feet tall and had a 95 degree drop! I was definitely nervcited (my made up word for when I am both nervous and excited)

As we climbed the first hill, I honestly questioned if we all could handle it.

But something funny happened. After surviving that first drop, I actually started enjoying the ride. The twists and turns didn't seem nearly as scary anymore because I knew I could handle them.

I know it is weird, but it reminded me of running a business. Before we launch, we are excited and nervous! Then we buckle up because there is no turning back. There are seasons where everything comes at us at once—more calls, more emails, more customers, more problems. It can feel overwhelming.

The mistake many business owners make is trying to hold on tighter and do everything themselves.

At VA+, we keep moving forward by building support before we need it. Virtual Assistants don't eliminate the ups and downs of a business, but they make the ride a whole lot more enjoyable because you're not trying to handle every twist alone.

I went to the American Dream Event, and honestly, I left feeling emotional.

The speakers were incredible. With the World Cup, Astros, comedy shows, juneteenth and so much happening in Houston, not everyone who registered made it. But I’ve learned something over the years: it only takes meeting one person to change the direction of your life.

One conversation. One connection. One opportunity. One room.

My parents came to this country with $8. They never asked the government for help. They worked hard, sacrificed, and kept pushing so their children could have a better life.

There have been times I wondered if the American Dream still exists. But then I look around the room filled with people who started with an idea, took risks, built businesses, created opportunities, and kept going even when it was hard.

I saw it in the entrepreneurs who started from nothing and are now thriving. I saw it in the business owners who refuse to quit. I saw it in the people who are consistent, focused, and willing to work toward their goals every single day.

The size of the room didn’t matter. The quality of the people did.

I’m excited to dig into their businesses, support their growth, and be part of the conversations that can truly change lives.

Don’t get left out. Sometimes the room you almost skipped is the room that changes everything.
