Motherhood is like this picture for me, a shadow and a reality.
You might always see what’s seen but we don’t see what’s behind…
The beautiful result of this picture has my son in the shadow telling my daughter to stay still so that I could take the picture.
As moms we always want to see our children thrive, and there is a lot of unseen sacrifice behind that no one sees.
We are strong, we are patient even if you don’t think you are; trust me you are.
Motherhood is the hardest job in the world because you need to listen to your gut A LOT, we doubt ourselves constantly.
We have a battle when things go wrong blaming ourselves that is something we did or didn’t do. Which might be true, but give yourself grace.
We carried a human being in our bodies for 9-10 months. Like a whole person was inside of us… let that sink… then we do our best to raise our children.
It’s okay if you give them the screen because you are tired or just need a moment.
It’s okay to sit in the car in different parking lots because is soothing and peaceful while they are in the car.
It’s okay if you don’t feel like cooking everyday and you meal prep, do hello fresh or whatever that might be.
It’s okay if they sleep with you because you just want to for a season of your life.
It’s okay if they don’t fall asleep on time every single day; we are not slaves to our rules.
People will always try to tell you what’s best or not; every family is different, every parent is different, every child is different and every environment is different.
Do find a support group of moms that are there for you. Even if you randomly meet them.
You are a super mom! Happy Mother’s Day to all of you!
